With a membership of 25, Schubertchor is currently the largest of the four choirs, six boys are newcomers. Schubertchor has two sets of brothers, and seven boys have had older brothers in the choir. This year's choir members come from Vienna, Lower Austria, Salzburg; from Slovakia, Hungary, Australia and Japan.
Schubertchor spent the autumn of 2008 attending school, taking turns with Mozartchor at performing Sunday Mass at the Imperial Chapel and singing at the Musikverein. The season's highlights included the traditional anniversary concert of the Chapel Imperial conducted by Georges Prêtre, a performance of Mahler's 3rd symphony under the baton of Pierre Boulez, two performances of Mozart's Requiem, as well as Christmas in Vienna.
In spring 2009, Schubertchor visited Korea and the USA. Later this autumn, they will tour Asia, and Germany. They are currently in Mexico.

Franz Schubert
(1797 - 1828)
was a choir boy in the Chapel Imperial from 1805 to 1813; he was a protégé of Court Kapellmeister Antonio Salieri.
