First Sung Service of the Season

The first sung service of the season, and the first in a very long time. We are delighted to be singing Mozart's Mass in C, K. 259, conducted by Erwin Ortner. It is a short piece, but very beautiful. Mozart wrote this setting of the mass ordinary between 1776 and 1778; most likely for the prince archbishop of Salzburg, Hieronymus Colloredo. There is a long solo for organ in the "Benedictus", which is why the mass has the byname "organ solo mass". And there are a few solos for us boys - we are looking forward to those.
